Assessment: Chapter 2



Opening Prayer: Apostles’ Creed



Lesson 1: Review

  • Assessment Chapter 2 Review
  • The Bible


o The two major parts = Old & New Testaments

o Synonyms of testament = agreement, covenant, promise

o 1st five books of Old Testament = Pentateuch

o 1st four books of New Testament = Gospels



Lesson 2: We Believe as Roman Catholic Christians

  • Complete the handout Our Religion in teams of three




Lesson 3: Introduction to Order of the Mass {Have students write in notebook}

  • Public worship is called a liturgy.
  • There are four parts. The first and last are the introductory & concluding rites.
  • The two major parts are in the middle.

    • Liturgy of the Word
    • Liturgy of the Eucharist







Lesson 4: Chapter 3 We Believe

  • Highlight Key Words: soul, steward, sin, original sin
  • We Believe

    • God created human beings, body and soul
    • God calls us to be stewards of creation.
    • Evil entered the world through a human act.
    • All people suffer from the effect of original sin.
